About Marshall
Welcome to the 2024-2025 School Year Marshall Elementary Dolphins!
Dear Parents and Guardians,
Welcome back to a new and exciting school year at Thurgood Marshall Elementary School! We hope you had a wonderful summer break and are as eager as we are to embark on another year of learning and growth. Our goal for the SY25 school year is to build upon the impressive academic achievements of last year and take our students' growth to new heights.
Our school theme for this year is "Be Compassionate, Be A Champion." We believe that compassion is the foundation of a thriving and supportive learning environment. By fostering empathy and encouraging inquiry, we aim to strengthen the connections between students, between students and teachers, and between students and their academic pursuits. When students feel understood and supported, they are more motivated and better equipped to achieve their full potential. This year, we are committed to nurturing compassion in every classroom, helping each student to become a true Champion in their own right.
We are also thrilled to introduce the Ron Clark House System, a dynamic and engaging way to build community and school spirit. Through this system, students will be grouped into houses that promote teamwork, responsibility, and a sense of belonging. We are confident that this initiative will enhance our school's culture and provide students with numerous opportunities to demonstrate leadership and camaraderie.
In addition to the Ron Clark House System, we will be placing a strong emphasis on writing across all grades. Writing is a crucial skill that supports learning in every subject area, and we are committed to helping our students develop their abilities to express themselves clearly and creatively. Our teachers have been preparing innovative and effective strategies to integrate writing into their daily lessons, ensuring that every student can improve and excel.
Of course, none of this would be possible without the continued involvement and support of our wonderful parents and guardians. Your partnership is essential to our student's success, and we encourage you to stay engaged and active in our school community. Whether through volunteering, attending school events, or supporting your child's learning at home, your contributions make a significant difference.
We are excited about the year ahead and the incredible opportunities it holds for our students. Together, we will make this school year one of growth, compassion, and championship.
Thank you for your ongoing support and dedication to our school. We look forward to a fantastic year!
Best,
Dr. Jeremy Burnham
Principal
